Court reserves decision on Captain Safdar's request for bail

The court reserved the judgment on the request of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s son-in-law, Captain Safdar, on the issue of provocative speeches and threats against Pakistani institutions.

According to the details, Captain Safdar’s petition was heard on bail in Lahore’s district on provocative speeches and threats against Pakistani institutions.

Judicial Magistrate Rana Asif Ali heard the petition on bail.

Captain (R) Safdar said police had no choice but to file a case with 16 MPOs. Police filed a lawsuit without the government’s permission.

After the arguments were completed, the court reserved the verdict which will be heard later.

Earlier, Captain (Retd) Safdar has been arrested, said the party leader Ata Tarar.

“Captain Safdar was taken into custody by police near Ravi Toll Plaza late Monday,” said Tarar, adding he was on his way from Bhera to Lahore.

Police said the case was lodged against the PML-N leader under Section 124A after October 11 for badmouthing the state institutions.

Earlier, Nawaz Sharif was shifted to the Services Hospital as his condition deteriorated. Taking to Twitter, the former prime minister’s personal physician Dr. Adnan Malik stated that Nawaz required immediate in-hospital care.
