The Islamabad High Court (IHC) held an early hearing on a petition seeking the disposition of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s sentence on medical grounds.

A notice has been issued to Chief Minister Punjab, Chairman NAB and Registrar High Court. However, the hearing has been suspended till 4pm today.

According to details, hearing was held by two-member bench, under Chief Justice Athar Ullah’s leadership, on a petition seeking the disposition of Nawaz Sharif’s sentence in the Al-Azizia reference.

Copy of Nawaz Sharif’s medical report has also been provided. According to that report, Nawaz’s health is in critical condition, and he has suffered a minor heart attack.

Medical report was also submitted in Lahore High Court, lawyer Khuwaja Adnan stated.

Court sent a notice to Chief Minister Punjab, Chairman NAB and Registrar High Court to provide cases and medical details of Nawaz Sharif.

Court asked about the medical facilities which were being provided to the former prime minister in jail.

The Lahore High Court (LHC) yesterday, approved Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif’s bail petition on medical grounds.

According to the details, a two-member bench headed by Justice Ali Baqar Najafi conducted the hearing and the bail is approved against two surety bonds worth Rs 10 million.

PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif had moved the LHC for elder brother’s bail in Chaudhry Sugar Mills case.
