President Arif Alvi held an important meeting with his Afghan counterpart Ashraf Ghani in Baku.

According to sources, the meeting was held on the sidelines of the 18th non-aligned movement summit in Baku, while the meeting discussed the Afghan peace and reconciliation process.

Both the dignitaries also discussed improving Pak-Afghan relations and the situation in the region.

On the occasion, the President said that Pakistan supports to solve Afghan issue through dialogues and according to the will of people of Afghanistan.

Referring to the historic brotherly relations between the two countries, President Arif Alvi said that Pakistan wants a stable and prosperous Afghanistan, and he also expressed the hope that bilateral relations will be further strengthened in the coming years.

While referring to the financial support provided by the Government of Pakistan in various fields, the President reiterated that Pakistan would continue to play a role in rebuilding Afghanistan.
