Witnesses’ lives are in danger in Rana Sanaullah case: Shehryar Afridi

Rana Sanaullah drugs trafficking case has made major strides. Minister of Anti-Narcotics has requested to move the case to Rawalpindi.

Minister for States and Frontier Regions Shehryar Khan Afridi said that witnesses’ lives are in danger in the Rana Sanaullah drug smuggling case and the prosecutor is being subjected to media trial that’s why the case is shifting to Rawalpindi.

According to the details, talking to the media in Islamabad, Shehryar Khan Afridi said that from where Rana Sanaullah got billions of rupees, Rana Sanaullah did not sell the assets but only bought so where did money come from?

Minister of State Shehryar Khan Afridi said that Rana Sanaullah was arrested by ANF along with drugs, evidence contained heroin, weapons, reports and about two dozen witnesses.

Shehryar Khan Afridi said, “This will be the first trial in the country in which no witnesses have been summoned. We have provided copies to the accused under the law.”

The Minister said that the lives of our witnesses are at stake, the lawyer was attacked, and the witnesses were also in danger. The IG Punjab should immediately provide protection to the witnesses.

Shehryar Khan Afridi said uniformed personnel under the constitution could not be criticized in the constitution, Rana Sanaullah openly targeting the ANF.

The Minister said that the ANF team was attacked in Lahore, notice should be taken of the threats which ANF personnel are getting. Rana Sanaullah’s case is a test case for the ANF.

He said, “Which powers are providing drugs openly? The eyes of the world are on Pakistan and Pakistan’s institutions, the world is acknowledging the performance of the ANF.”
