DGISPR has categorically stated that Army Pakistan Army believes in the supremacy of the constitution and law and its support lies with a democratically elected government.

While talking to a private news channel, Director General Inter Service Public Relations Major General Asif Ghafoor, said Army is a national and impartial institution and it always supports democratically elected government, not any single party.

Maj-Gen Asif Ghafoor further stated “JUIF leader Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman should tell which institutions he was referring to in his speech to Azadi March protesters in Islamabad, if he was talking about Army then I want to make it clear Army is a national institution, he stated.

He said No one would be allowed to create instability at any cost and the opposition should take up their grievances with the concerned institution despite the passage of over a year since this government came into power.

DGISPR said that anti-terrorism operation Radd-ul-Fasaad is also going on in the tribal areas and also there is tension ongoing at the eastern border. The Indian aggression was befittingly responded to earlier, he added.

While giving a reaction on DGISPR’s statement Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said “When we don’t want a clash with institutions and also we don’t know on what basis he has issued the statement.”

Yesterday, while addressing the “Azadi March” protesters in Islamabad, the JUI-F chief said “we will decide the future course of action after two days.”

The JUI-F chief reiterated that there is only one option left and that is the government has to step down.

He further said, “The 2018 general elections were fully rigged and we do not accept this selected government.”
