Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday has reserved verdict on contempt of court case against Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan and Federal Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan.

The court has adjourned the hearing till November 25.

Chief Justice Athar Minallah heard the petition under contempt of court.

During the hearing, Firdous Ashiq and Ghulam Sarwar Khan submitted their unconditional apologies in the court.

Earlier, Firdous Ashiq Awan says in her written response to the contempt of court case that she leaves herself at the mercy of the High Court after unconditional apology.

Chief Justice Athar Manullah heard the matter and a written response was submitted by Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan.

According to the sources, in her written reply, Firdous said that I would withdraw my remarks unconditionally in the October 29 press conference regarding the court and the judges, my press conference was not just about Nawaz Sharif’s pending case.

The reply stated that “I did not intend to say that the court was giving special relief to Nawaz Sharif”.

PM’s Special Assistant also asked for withdrawal of showcause notice for contempt of court.

Previously, a show cause notice has been issued to Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan for contempt of court.

According to the details, IHC issued the notice over holding anti-judiciary press conference and directed her to appear in the court on November 1.
