Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday congratulated his concerned government team for readying the project in a record time for Baba Guru Nanak’s 550th birth day celebrations.

In a tweet, he says Kartarpur Corridor is ready to welcome Sikh pilgrims.

The Prime Minister is expected to inaugurate the project on the 9th of this month.

 

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan waived off two requirements for the Sikhs coming for pilgrimage to Kartarpur from India.

In a tweet, he said the Sikhs from India would not need a passport now but just a valid identity card. They no longer have to register ten days in advance.

The federal government had issued a commemorative coin of 50 rupees on the 550th birthday of Baba Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism.

The Sikh pilgrims, during their visit to the Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib next month, will be able to buy the coin of worth Rs50.

The postage stamps, with the image of Gurdwara Janam Asthan, will also be issued worth Rs8 and could be used commonly.

Prime Minister Imran Khan will inaugurate the project on November 9, three days before the 550th birth anniversary Baba Guru Nanak that will be celebrated on November 12.
