Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif will leave for London today in an air ambulance accompanied by Shehbaz Sharif and his personal physician Doctor Adnan.

The ambulance, which arrived at 8:45am was obtained on rent by the family.

The administration of Allama Iqbal International Airport has completed the preparations after receiving a copy of the Lahore High Court’s verdict that allowed Nawaz Sharif to travel abroad.

All essential preparations to shift ailing former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif from Pakistan to London for medical treatment have been made.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb has said that doctors are taking all the possible precautionary measures for safe travel of ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif to London for medical treatment.

In a statement, the PML-N leader said that Nawaz Sharif will be accompanied by his personal doctor Dr Adnan Khan and brother Shehbaz Sharif during the travel.

A “high-end” air ambulance has arrived at the Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore from Doha and Mian Sahab will be taken to the airport’s Haj Terminal from Jati Umrah at 10am in a form of caravan.

According to sources, the ambulance, which arrived at 8:45am was obtained on rent by the family.

Sources further said 21 senior PML-N leaders have been allowed to go till Hajj lounge at the airport.

Other Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders including Maryam Nawaz, retired captain Safdar will also escort the PML-N supremo.

An ambulance of the Sharif Medical City will also be a part of caravan.

Meanwhile, the government has given clearance to the air ambulance for landing.
