Islamabad High Court has set up a commission headed by Shirin Mazari for dealing with the plight of prisoners in jail.

According to details, Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court, Athar Manullah, has issued a written order on the condition of the prisoners in the jails.

The Islamabad High Court directed the Commission to hold its first meeting within seven days while the Health Ministry also set up special medical boards for prisoners in all four provinces.

Under the Islamabad High Court’s decision, the Secretary of Interior, Secretary Health will also be a member of the Commission while former Director General Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Tariq Khosa will also be a part of the Commission.

The Islamabad High Court’s stated that It is the responsibility of the federal government to take steps for the prisoners.

High Court also said, jail laws were not obeyed because of which Disastrous results are coming out, federal government can also involve provincial government in this matter.

Be clear that Islamabad High Court (IHC) has demanded record of all sick prisoners from across the country.
Chief Justice Athar Manullah ordered in his remarks to collect the complete record of all the prisoners in all the jails.
I will issue a decision on all important human rights issues, CJ also stated.
