After the special court’s detailed verdict in the Musharraf treason case, Pakistan government decided on Thursday to file a reference against Justice Waqar Ahmed Seth.
According to details, the decision was taken during a media strategy committee meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad.
The government’s legal team has said that para 66 in the detailed verdict which states that the former president should be dragged to D-Chowk and hanged for three days straight, is a human violation and also against to the legal limits.
“The special court’s verdict has created a sense of anarchy in the country. This verdict negates the law, shariah and human rights,” the legal team added.
Sources also said that the prime minister Imran Khan, during the meeting, vowed that he would not let the country’s stability be affected and any attempt to create conflict among institutions would be foiled.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has also tasked his legal team to present the government’s reply on special court’s verdict.

Earlier on today, DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor said that the detailed verdict on former military ruler Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf has proven as unethical and inhumane.
DG ISPR stated while addressing an important press conference that we will defeat internal and external enemy.
DG ISPR further added that Army is not just an institution but a family and we know how to maintain the honor and dignity of the country as well as the honor and dignity of our institution.
