PM Imran Khan to attend Global Refugee Forum session

Prime Minister Imran Khan will visit Geneva to attend the two-day session of Global Refugee Forum commencing from December 17 in Switzerland, confirmed spokesperson of PM House here on Monday.

PM Imran Khan will arrive in Switzerland on December 17 to attend the session of Global Refugee Forum being organized in Geneva on December 17-18 with the collaboration of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the Swiss government.

The premier will joint president the two-session which will be attended by the head of states of Turkey, Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Germany, the spokesperson said.

The premier will discuss hosting Afghan refugees by Pakistan for 40 years and also highlight the state’s experience besides elaborating efforts and recommendations to the head of states.

Earlier in a day, Prime Minister Imran Khan held an important meeting with United States Senator Lindsey Graham.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi was also present during the meeting.

According to the details, Senator Lindsey Graham arrived at the PAF Base Nur Khan, Rawalpindi via special plane and then reached Islamabad with a four-member delegation.

US Ambassador to Pakistan Paul Jones and Foreign Office officials welcomed the representatives upon their arrival in Pakistan.

Moreover, Prime Minister Imran Khan met with Crown Prince of Bahrain HRH Salman Bin Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa and discussed bilateral relations.

Imran Khan visited Bahrain on the invitation of King Hammad Bin Isa Al Khalifa. He will also be conferred with Bahrain’s highest civil award on the occasion.

Prime Minister Imran Khan will be accorded Guard of Honor.

Prime Minister Imran Khan will be the special guest on the occasion of Bahrain’s national day.

The exchange of views would cover the entire gamut of bilateral relations and matters pertaining to regional and international issues.

Pakistan and Bahrain are cooperating with each other in various fields, including trade, defense.

Both stay in touch on various forums including the United Nations (UN) and Organization of Islamic Corporation (OIC).

There are forums for cooperation between the two countries in various fields, including the Joint Ministerial Commission.

The two countries also cooperate at the parliamentary level.

They have established institutional mechanisms to bolster bilateral cooperation.
