The Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that he Spoke to his Turkish counterpart Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and conveyed condolences over the loss of several lives. 

FM Qureshi Tweeted that he condoled on behalf of President, PM & people of Pakistan for lives lost in the devastating earthquake.

“Pakistan has offered to send field hospital & rescue team to assist. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Turkish nation,” FM Qureshi added.

Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa also expressed deep grief over the loss of precious life in Turkey earthquake.

According to the Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR), Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa had expressed his condolences over the loss of lives in the quake.

“A Pakistan Army contingent, including special rescue and relief team and field medical facilities, are ready as part of assistance offered by the government,” the press release added.

PM Imran Khan shares condolences over earthquake in Turkey

A powerful earthquake hit Turkey due to which 18 people killed, several buildings have collapsed and multiple injuries reported.

According to the details, massive tremor of 6.8 magnitude hit the Turkey on Friday in which several building collapsed and there are fears of People still be trapped under the rubble.

Aid workers have reached to the scene.

Earthquake tremor also  felt in several parts of  Syria and in Lebanon, in the cities of Beirut and Tripoli.

The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) said the earthquake measured 6.9 and struck eastern Turkey. A strong earthquake is between 6 and 6.0 on the Richter scale.
