The federal government has appreciated the opposition over its cooperation for speedy legislation process in the parliament.
According to the details, while talking to media outside the Parliament House Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said it has been proved in both the Houses that all political parties are united for the interest of country.
She said all political parties in the parliament played a vital role in further strengthening democratic process in the country.
Dr Firdous said national security and defence are the prime responsibility of the government and today both the Houses were further strengthened showing political maturity.
Leader of the House in the Senate Syed Shibli Faraz and Senator Faisal Javed Khan were also present during the press conference.
Syed Shibili Faraz, on the occasion, said support of opposition benches in passage of the bills related to important national security issue is commendable and hoped that this cooperation will be continued in other legislation processes as well.
Senator Faisal Javed Khan positive and constructive criticism from the opposition side will be welcomed.
He also expressed hope that this cooperation and unity from the opposition benches will be witnessed in the days to come.
Services act amendment bill has passed with the majority in the Senate.
Pakistan’s Senate approved three bills for the regulation of tenures of three chiefs.
Earlier on Wednesday, Senate approved the amendment in the bill and approved the extensions of the chief of Army Staff, Chief of Air staff, chief of naval staff and the Chairman of the Joint session of Staff Committee.
The legislation is waiting for the President of Pakistan to make the bill convert in the law.
The senate lasted for 20 minutes. The committee was chaired by Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani.
Although there were some minor protests in the committee, major political parties voted in the favor.
The bills are Pakistan Army (Amendment) Bill, 2020, Pakistan Air Force (Amendment) Bill, 2020 and Pakistan Navy (Amendment) Bill, 2020.
