Prime Minister Imran Khan is committed to ensure that “no one goes to bed hungry” in Pakistan.

Dr. Sania Nishtar – Special Assistant to PM on Social Protection and Poverty Alleviation, says while talking to media that the Prime Minister is personally committed to ensure that no one goes to bed hungry, and Ehsaas is working hard to realize this vision.

She was speaking at an opening ceremony of the second Langar Khana at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences in collaboration with Saylani Welfare Trust in Islamabad today (Friday).

According to her, government is mainly extending logistic support to Langars through a strategic approach and is playing its role is by setting safety and quality standards under the Ehsaas framework.

On this occasion, Special Assistant on Health, Dr. Zafar Mirza said Langar Khana will serve two meals a day to at least 1,000 persons including patients and their attendants at PIMS as per the vision of the Prime Minister Imran Khan.

He said we are establishing Langar Khanas and Panahgahs at the hospitals to facilitate the attendants of the patients.

Dr Zafar Mirza added that it is the top priority of the government to strengthen the weaker segments of the society.

Three months earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan had inaugurated the Ehsaas Saylani Langar Scheme in the federal capital to feed the poor and needy people.

Prime Minister announced during his speech at inaugural ceremony that currently being launched from the federal capital, will later be expanded to the entire country.

Prime Minister’s Ehsaas Program will launch one hundred and thirty-seven packages for the deserving people worth one hundred and eighty billion rupees.
