Defense Minister Pervez Khattak called on Ambassador of Spain Manuel Duran Gimenez-Rico in Islamabad.
According to details, during the meeting both the dignitaries have acknowledged the need to enhance defence cooperation between the two countries.
Pervez Khattak said collaboration to address global challenges, such as terrorism, extremism, illegal immigration and drug trafficking is an important part of our bilateral relations with Spain.

The Defense Minister also mentioned that a memorandum of Understanding on Defense Cooperation between Pakistan and Spain is at advance stage.
The Defence Minister invited Spanish military to join in training collaboration ventures and multilateral maritime exercise AMAN.
Earlier, Naval Chief Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi was on a official visit to Sri Lanka and met Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Naval Chief also held meetings with the chiefs of the Sri Lankan armed forces and officials of the Ministry of Defense.
Matters pertaining to mutual interest and promotion of bilateral maritime cooperation were discussed during the meetings.
Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi highlighted the Pakistan Navy’s resolve to eliminate maritime terrorism and ensure maritime security in the region.
On arrival at the headquarters of the Sri Lankan armed forces, the Naval Chief was presented guard of honor.
The Naval Chief also visited different Sri Lankan naval installations where he was briefed on operational preparedness.
