Police shot a young student on Aram Bagh, MA Jinnah Road area of Karachi.

According to the details, the injured youth was on his way for shopping when Police tried to stop him and after the exchange of bitter words police shot him down. The injured was shifted to the civil hospital Karachi. The injured is a resident of Clifton and a student of MSC.

About 266 encounters took place in the city of lights in the previous year, 2019, and during which 30 suspects were killed and another 65 were injured. Some 21 officials were also injured during the alleged encounters. Many civilians also became victims of the fire in 2019. In 2019, a couple was injured in Korangi area due to police firing. The most recent case was that of Nabeel Hoodhboy, a citizen who was killed by trigger-happy cops in November during snap checking near Cantt Station. His friend, Raza Imam, was injured in the same incident. The errant cops were reportedly arrested and their cases are under trial. The department has also initiated reforms in this regard, which include special training for police personnel.

Earlier in last month, The protest of Teachers against the Sindh government turned violent as they shifted their demonstration to the Sindh Assembly. The teachers had been protesting outside the Karachi Press Club for ten consecutive days but today on Friday they decided to shift their protest to the Sindh Assembly.

Police had blocked the way to the assembly by containers but one route was still open so the teachers continued their march to the assembly and tried to enter it. Security officials closed the doors of the assembly, so the teachers staged a protest outside the assembly.

Several teachers were arrested by the police and taken to nearby police stations.
