Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi visited Oman to condole over the death of the country’s ruler Sultan Qaboos bin Said.
The foreign Minister visited Oman to condole one of the Middle East’s longest-serving rulers, Sultan Qaboos.
The foreign minister welcomed at the Muscat International Airport by country’s ambassador to Oman and officials of the Omani foreign affairs.
FM Qureshi will meet the members of the royal family on Tuesday.
However, he will condole with them over the demise of Sultan Qaboos bin Said.
Yesterday, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi arrived in Saudi Arabia on Monday after completing his Iran visit.
Earlier on Sunday, FM Shah Mehmood Qureshi met Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in Tehran amid Iran-US tensions.
However, the foreign minister said that Pakistan will not join any war in the region.
But, it will continue to play a vibrant and positive role for establishment of lasting peace.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi in a Twitter statement on Monday reiterated Pakistan will not allow its soil to use for any war.
“Constructive & positive meeting with H.E President Hassan Rouhani. Reiterated effort to deescalate tensions to the President which he supports,” he said.
“We are committed to exercising every diplomatic effort to achieve regional security & are clear Pakistan soil will not be used for war.”
On his arrival to Masshad, Governor Mashhad Ali Reza Razm Hosseini warmly welcomed him.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi visited Imam Reza shrine and made special prayers for the security of Pakistan.
Moreover, he also prayed for the unity and solidarity of the Muslim Ummah.
Speaking on the occasion, the Foreign Minister said it is an honor for him to begin his visit by visiting this holy site.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi thanked Governor Mashhad for making best arrangements for three million Pakistani pilgrims who visit the place annually.
The Foreign Minister visited Iran on the special directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Iran’s Confession Of Hitting Ukrainian Plane To Lessen Concerns: FM Qureshi
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said Iran’s confession of unintentionally shooting down a Ukrainian passenger plane is likely to reduce concerns over the matter.
However, the FM said in his statement that the region cannot afford another war.
So, he stressed that Pakistan will continue to play its role in lessening the ongoing tensions.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi told that he is leaving for Iran on Prime Minister Imran Khan’s directions.
Furthermore, he said he will hold meetings with the Iranian leadership.
