United Nations Security Council (UNSC) recent session on the occupied Kashmir is diplomatic victory and success of Pakistan, rubbishing Indian arguments that Kashmir is an internal matter.
According to the details, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to United Nations, Munir Akram has said recent United Nations Security Council (UNSC) session on the occupied Kashmir is diplomatic victory and success of Pakistan.
While talking in a TV interview, he said the session would increase pressure on India to step back from making hostile moves in the valley.
Pakistan envoy to UN said, 50-year old UN resolutions on Kashmir had become functional yet which also rubbishing Indian arguments that Kashmir is an internal matter.
Meanwhile, Speaking at the annual ceremony for handover of the rotating Chairmanship of the G-77, in New York, Munir Akram said the unilateral use of force and foreign intervention have become more frequent and the right of self-determination of peoples under foreign occupation is brutally denied.
About CPEC, Munir Akram said the flagship, multibillion dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is an `outstanding example’ of South-South cooperation, which is aimed at achievement of shared economic and development goals.
He said there was slowdown in global economic growth under the weight of trade and technology disputes that damages efforts to realize the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), eradicate poverty, and combat climate change.
The ambassador said in the wake of receding global flows in foreign direct investment, a significant acceleration is required to meet the investment needs associated with the sustainable development goals.
