German Envoy on Afghanistan Potzel Markus called on Foreign Secretary of Pakistan Sohail Mahmood.

During the meeting German Envoy Potzel Markus appreciated the role played by Pakistan in the Afghan peace process and hosting of millions of Afghan refugees for over 4 decades.

Both the dignitaries have reaffirmed the strength and status of Pakistan-Germany relations.

The Foreign Secretary shared Pakistan’s perspective on all aspects of the situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir.

The government of Pakistan, in collaboration with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), has convened the international conference to mark “40 years of Afghan refugees presence in Pakistan: A new partnership for solidarity”, on February 17-18.

While addressing International Conference, Foreign Minister of Pakistan Shah Mahmood Qureshi said The retreat and repatriation of Afghan refugees requires global efforts.

Shah Mahmood said Pakistan is providing education and health services to millions of Afghan refugees.

The United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio also attended the International Conference on Afghan refugees.

UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres arrived Pakistan on four days official visit.

United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) was a co-host of the event. UN authorities also attended the conference.

Apart from that, representatives from multilateral development banks, refugee agencies, and Non-Government Organizations also took part in the event.
