PML N Lawmaker Ahsan Iqbal demanded probe into Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Foreign Funding Case.

He was talking to media outside National Accountability Bureau (NAB) court in today, he said that NAB is only conducting probe against opposition leaders.

“Why is NAB not taking action against wheat and sugar hoarders? PTI’s leaders earned millions of rupees through wheat and sugar crisis.”

Why doesn’t NAB investigate PTI’s Foreign Funding Case? The cases against us are merely tactics to oppress the opposition,” PML N Lawmaker said.

The PML-N leader also predicted that 2020 is going to be the year of elections.

“This year is going to be the years of general elections and Imran Khan’s government will go home,” he said.

The PML-N leader further stated that he was granted bail as he cooperated with NAB officials and proceedings.

“Those who initiated projects are now being penalized. They declared me a criminal in Narowal Sports City project without evidences. They have completely ruined the project. Who is going to bear the loss of millions of rupees?” he asked.

Ahsan Iqbal further said that Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project is the biggest scandal in the history of Pakistan.

“BRT is the biggest scandal Pakistan’s political history. It is government’s mission to drag country towards political instability. There is inflation and unemployment everywhere,” he said.

Ahsan Iqbal said that this government is doing politics on health.

“Nawaz Sharif was granted permission by Punjab government’s constituted medical board along with a team of doctors. So why are they having issues now,” he said.

On the other hand, Accountability court directed NAB to file Narowal Sports Complex alleged corruption reference against Ahsan Iqbal.

PML-N leader appeared before the court for the hearing.

Taking the rostrum, Iqbal alleged that he is being penalized for doing good deeds and added that the Sports Complex has been ruined in last 18 months.

He demanded to file reference against those who ruined the complex. After marking his attendance, the former minister left for NAB office to appear before it after being summoned in the same reference.

The court after directing NAB to file reference against Iqbal within 30 days, adjourned the hearing till March 26.

It is pertinent to mention here that Ahsan Iqbal had been released from Adiala Jail, after the Islamabad High Court had approved his bail.

Ahsan Iqbal is accused of using funds of the federal government and Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) for a sports city in Narowal.

NAB had announced to initiate a probe into alleged violation of rules in the construction of the National Sports City project – a day after its inauguration by the then President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain.
