President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan will reach Pakistan today (Thursday) on a two-day state visit, both countries share a long history of bilateral relationships.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan has special sentiments for Pakistan and he is on his seventh trip to Pakistan in the last ten years.
The Turkish President will also address the joint session of the parliament on February 14th. He is the only world leader who has addressed the legislative assembly of Pakistan thrice, this is his fourth address.
Pakistan and Turkey have a long history of the bilateral relationship, in the last ten years – the long term Turkish leader has visited Pakistan six times and this one is his seventh trip.
During the visit, Prime Minister Imran Khan and President Erdogan will have a one-on-one meeting, after which they will co-chair the 6th Session of the Pakistan-Turkey High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council in the joint cabinet format. At the conclusion of the Session, a Joint Declaration will be signed. A number of important agreements and MoUs are expected to be concluded. The two leaders will have a joint press stakeout.
Pakistan’s Foreign Office has declared that the trip of the Turkish president is going to be historic.
According to the sources of the Ministry of Foreign affairs, Pakistan is already in talks with the Turkish government over dual nationality agreement and the details will be disclosed, once both countries will reach the final conclusion.
There are several other bilateral agreements are being expected between the two brotherly countries.
In this regard, the Ministry of Economic Affairs has also completed its preparations and is expected to sign 10 to 12 agreements on cooperation in education, defense, and economic sectors.
Bilateral cooperation will be further enhanced at the meeting of the Pak-Turkish High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council while the Council will guide and oversee the Strategic Economic Framework.
The agreement will be finalized during the Turkish President’s arrival.
Turkish President will arrive along with a high-level delegation including investors and businessmen.
During the visit, Turkish President will also call on President Arif Alavi, Speaker National Assembly Assad Qaiser and Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani.
