Governor Sindh Imran Ismail has said that there is no lockdown situation in Karachi right now.

While talking to media in Karachi, Imran Ismail said that the Prime Minister Imran Khan will announce the economic package on Tuesday, distributing rations to the lower income groups.

He said that the Chaman Border has been opened only for the cargo service while we are taking essential action on Taftan Border.

Governor Sindh added that the business community had met yesterday, we will not allow injustice to our brothers from business community.

It to be noted that, 90 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Sindh on Saturday as Pakistan’s tally rises to 666 and 357 in Sindh.

Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho minister for Health and Population Welfare said 2,700 tests have been conducted so far in the province, 101 were declared as positive in Karachi, one in Hyderabad and 255 in Sukkur. Majority of the people in Sukkur who are infected with the virus had returned from Iran.

Two persons have fully recovered and discharged in Karachi and one patient in Hyderabad while one have died.

She said the health department is working round the clock to ensure that adequate measures are taken to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus.

“We so far have 60 cases of local transmission and we urge the people to maintain social distancing to avoid community spread and if someone has a 14 day history of foreign travel they need to quarantine themselves at home for 14 days to avoid transmission of COVID-19,” the health minister added.
