A news anchor has tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Lahore who works with private media outlet after which the total confirmed cases in Punjab has jumped to 497.

According to the details, another media worker a 24-year-old news anchor has been tested positive in Punjab. Prior to this two producers of the private news outlets were tested positive for the COVID-19, Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar  had confirmed in his tweet.

He wrote “With heavy heart, I am confirming that we have lost a 22 years old patient in Faisalabad. Total loss of lives is at 5 now. Currently we have 490 confirmed cases across Punjab. This is a global health emergency and everybody needs to act responsibly and help us save lives.”

Usman Buzdar also gave the details of the situation in the Province and stated “DGK quarantine 207 cases, Multan quarantine 46, Lahore 115, Gujrat 48, Gujranwala 9, Jhelum 19, Rawalpindi 14, Multan 3, Faisalabad 10, DGK 5, Mandibahuddin 3, Sargodha 2, Nankanasahib 2 & Mianwali 2 and Narowal, RYK, Attock, Bahawalnagar & Khushab have one case each.”

Meanwhile in Karachi  17 new cases of Coronavirus were reported today. Sources said that 17 new cases have been confirmed from the local citizens.

Sindh health department has informed that testing of 83 immigrants were carried out. Only 7 tested positive. These immigrants have come to Larkana from Iran.

Health department also said that 3 cases have come out from Hyderabad. One case has been reported from Dsdu. Health department has also informed that total number of cases in Sindh reached to 457.

Karachi has reported 185 confirmed cases of Covid-19. Health department also reported that 265 patients are in the isolation ward in Sukkur.

14 patients have recovered whereas one died. Apart from that, health department also said that 170 patients are being treated in Karachi, Dadu and Hyderabad.

Furthermore, over 131 cases in Karachi have come out due to local transmission of the disease.
Testing of 4,810 suspected people have been carried out whereas 457 cases have been positive so far.
