National command and control center and ISPR conducts a joint presser to unveil the National Strategy for Crisis & Risk communication amid coronavirus outbreak in Pakistan, here in Islamabad today (Thursday).

According to the details, Firdous Ashiq Awan – Federal Minister of information, Dr. Zafar Mirza – Federal Minister of Health and DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar separately describe their departmental strategy.

National command and control center and Inter-Services Public Relations department of the Pak Army conducted a joint presser in the absence of media correspondents.

Press conference for public awareness was held without reporters in line with respecting social distancing & self-discipline amid Coronavirus outbreak.

DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar unveils the strategy of Pak-army for Crisis & Risk communication amid coronavirus outbreak in Pakistan.

DGISPR shed light on the army’s role towards the national effort. Most importantly, he talked about Crisis & Risk communication strategy.

he said, Armed forced are taken all necessary steps to assist the civil government in the outbreak. Army chief directed all cores of the army to get into their perspective districts and collect data related to coronavirus.

The army is also providing assistance to the federal government at the operational airports of Pakistan to control the situation. forces are also aiding provincial governments at the quarantine centers developed at Sukker and Multan. The military is also playing its vibrant role in establishing the largest quarantine center at the expo center in Karachi.

Iftekhar added that scientists working with the Pakistan  Army are also researching on #COVID19, types of equipment and sanitizers related combating coronavirus

Two days earlier (Tuesday) COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa issued direction to all Commanders for taking all-out essential measures to assist civil administration for the safety and well-being of the People of Pakistan.

ISPR also stated while communicating the directions of Army chief that all medical facilities of the Armed Forces are fully functional and geared up to meet any eventuality to deal with the pandemic.

These steps are taken in line with the decisions of the National Security Committee taken on 13 March.

It is pertinent to mention that COVID-19 testing labs established at major military hospitals across the country & central testing lab at Armed Forces institute of Pathology (AFIP), Rawalpindi. COVID-19 help desk established at each military hospital for fast track handling.

Armed Forces of Pakistan are fully involved in assisting the government and provincial administrations to tackle the situation since the outbreak and duly vigilant of the developing situation post-COVID-19.
