NSC meeting to be held today with PM in Chair

Prime Minister Imran Khan has called National Security Council (NSC) Meeting on Friday to discuss the current situation in the country.

As per details, Prime Minister Imran Khan called meeting of NSC on March 13, after cases of coronavirus in Pakistan jumped in recent days.

Defence Minister Pervaiz Khattak, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Interior Minister Ijaz Shah, and Law Minister Farogh Naseem to attend the meeting.

Chiefs of armed forces and Director General Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) will also attend the meeting.

National Health Services requested government to impose national emergency over coronavirus.

Up till Now So far, there are 21 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Pakistan.

Cases in Pakistan of COVID-19 risen to 21 after Gilgit-Baltistan reported its third patient on Thursday.

All the people tested positive have a travel history either to Iran or Syria and most cases are in Sindh.

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah called on the federal government to close borders and enact stricter controls at ports of entry, especially the Karachi airport.

Sindh announced on Thursday night that shutting down schools, colleges and universities across the province till May 31 to contain the spread of the virus.

Other provinces not taken such steps, however, Punjab declared an emergency at its hospitals.

No cases have been reported in Punjab province yet.
