The Peshawar High Court on Monday has issued directives for the employees working at different offices across province, in a bid to prevent spread of deadly coronavirus.

During the hearing, Peshawar High Court stopped employees s from shaking hands and hugging each other. The judge has also ordered the workers suffering from cough, fever and flu to wear mask.

Biometric attendance system suspended as per the directives.

It should be noted that four coronavirus cases have been surfaced in Pakistan.

The authorities have shut borders with Iran and Afghanistan (Taftan, Chaman) to control the disease.

Prime ministers advisor on health Dr. Zafar Mirza said the government would reinforce surveillance measures at border crossings with Iran and other neighbouring countries.

He said top government officials have decided “a national campaign will be launched to create greater awareness among the people about coronavirus and precautions.”

The Federal Institute of Health in Islamabad and the Kidney Center in Rawalpindi have been recommended for the establishment of Corona Treatment Centre.

The virus has now killed more than 2900 people and infected over 83,000 worldwide, with an increasing number of new cases reported each day.

The scanners installed at Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore and Peshawar.

Medical teams deployed at the airports have so far scanned more than 600,000 passengers arriving by international flights.

Initially, a thermal scanner installed at Islamabad International Airport (IIA) after which Jinnah International Airport Karachi, Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore and Bacha Khan International Airport Peshawar also provided with the machines.

Installation of the thermal scanners will help the health authorities complete the scanning of passengers in a shortest possible time.

Passengers and crew members of all international flights scanned for symptoms of coronavirus and suspected passengers quarantined and later shifted to government hospitals for further treatment.

The government has imported five latest scanners, four of which installed in the airports while the remaining one kept at a standby.
