Pakistan International Airlines’ CEO has announced to slash his salary a 20% as coronavirus has hut businesses around the world including airlines.
Accoring to the details, Department chief officers of PIA have also cut their salaries by 20% while managers have decided to cut theirs by 15%.
Deputy managers have decided to cut their salaries by 10% and managers, by 8%.
The spokesperson of PIA stated that the decision taken by the management was aimed at providing some cushion to the airline during the financial crisis during the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.
It is to be noted that, Coronavirus cases in Pakistan have surged to 1257 and expected increase sharply in days to come as authorities are aiming to conduct more tests after receiving kits from China.
1257 cases of coronavirus have been reported in Pakistan so far. Unlike other countries across the world majority of the Coronavirus patients in Pakistan are young people.
According to a confidential daily sit rep report of the World Health Organization (WHO) on Coronavirus cases in Pakistan, 34% of positive cases belong to the 18-35 age group.
