Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Social Protection and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Sania Nishtar on Sunday said that the payment process under Ehsaas Emergency Cash Programme would start from Wednesday to back the vulnerable segments of society, affected due to lockdown amid Coronavirus outbreak.
Addressing a press conference, Dr. Sania Nishtar said, the Ehsaas Emergency Cash Programme was launched to support the daily wagers and piece-rate workers after lockdown in the country to combat COVID-19.
The sources said that Ehsaas programme will benefit the needy people from all the four provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan, through allocating quota.
Dr Sania said that Punjab will contribute Rs 700,000 and Sindh Rs 250,000 from their own budget in this programme.

Ehsaas webpage for Parliamentarians to be launched soon, Dr Sania
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Social Protection & Poverty Alleviation and Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) chairperson Dr Sania Nishtar said on Friday that ‘Ehsaas webpage for Parliamentarians’ will be launched soon.
According to the details, She was talking to a delegation of ten women MPAs from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, who were briefed on Prime Minister’s flagship programme ‘Ehsaas’.
She also said, through ‘Ehsaas webpage for Parliamentarians’ federal and provincial stakeholders will be able to take an active part in the execution of Ehsaas programmes.
