Coronavirus claims 667 lives in Pakistan

Pakistan’s death tally due to novel coronavirus now stands at 667 with confirmed cases passed the toll of 30000 on Monday.

As per details, The nationwide tally of Coronavirus has soared to 30,941 with 1,476 new cases reported during the last twenty four hours.  11,568 cases have so far been detected in Punjab, 11,480 in Sindh, 4,669 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 2,017 in Balochistan, 442 in Gilgit Baltistan, 679 in Islamabad and 86 in Azad Kashmir. 8,212 patients have so far recovered from the virus whilst the death toll stands at 667 with 28 new deaths reported during the last twenty four hours.

Senator Shibli Faraz on Lockdown

On the other hand, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Senator Shibli Faraz has clarified that relaxing lockdown was a risky act but keeping in view the miseries of poor people, the government had to take the hard decision for larger interest of the country. He said, it was the responsibility of the incumbent government to resolve the problems of the masses fighting against coronavirus while improving economic condition of the country was also liability of the ruling party. He said the incumbent government has a strong desire to promote culture, values and history besides bringing this important institution to the level of international standard. Senator Shibli Faraz said we have institutions like PTV and Radio Pakistan, and these institutions are highlighting development works and other progress done by the present government. The minister said that calling assembly session by opposition parties amid dangerous coronavirus situation, is just a political point scoring.

PIA Flight Operations

Moreover, it was also reported that Pakistan International Airline’s (PIA) first special flight, carrying 200 countrymen from US has departed for Pakistan today.
