Ehsaas Emergency Cash: PM Launches Disbursal Programme for Jobless Workers

Prime Minister Imran Khan all set to launch the cash disbursal programme under the Ehsaas Emergency Cash for jobless workers on Monday (today).

Around 3.4 million of applications of jobless workers have been received through Ehsaas Labour Portal, according to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

The prime minister has committed that for each rupee provided by donors, Rs4 will be committed by the government.

On May 2, PM Khan inaugurated the Ehsaas Labor Portal, which enables Covid-19 affectees who lost their livelihood and jobs to seek Ehsaas Emergency Cash aid from the government.

He also announced that the donations he was receiving in the PM Covid-19 Fund would be used to give Ehsaas Emergency Cash to deserving job-loss affected people. The Ehsaas Emergency Cash of Rs12,000 will be given to these individuals.

The process of cash disbursal to deserving people will commence on May 18. The prime minister will be present at an Ehsaas camp where the first batch  will receive Ehsaas Emergency Cash.

The Premier said that he is personally monitoring the relief fund regulations. Its details will be revealed after the audit.\

Imran Khan has also explained that the government will donate 4 rupees for each rupee donated to the relief fund. He also said that the objective is to approach the maximum number o people during these testing times.

Ehsaas Cash Programme: Details Of The Web Portal

The premier also said that those who have lost their jobs because of lockdown measures can register themselves on ehsaaslabour.nadra.gov.pk to avail a stipend worth PKR 12, 000. During the briefing, he directed the volunteers and Tiger Force to help people during the registration process. He further explained that the registrations will be analyzed and the amount will be given to the qualified people. He assured that the assistance will be provided entirely on merit basis without political interference.

Furthermore, Imran Khan also said that Rs. 81 billion have been distributed to 6.8 million deserving people under Emergency Cash Programme.
