Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health, Dr. Zafar Mirza said the government is working on developmental programs for the betterment of nurses.
Addressing a ceremony in connection with International Nurses Day in Islamabad, he said that nurses play an important role in health sectors. The Special Assistant said the importance of nursing profession has multiplied manifold due to ongoing battle against the Coronavirus Pandemic.
He said the Pakistan Nursing Council stands committed to improvement in education and training of nurses, securing job creations, workplace safety and further respect for the profession.
Dr. Zafar Mirza stressed the need for developing and upgrading nursing educational institutions to ensure quality education.
Earlier, Dr. Mirza had said that the federal government was providing all necessary equipment to the doctors through National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to fight the deadly pandemic.
He also paid homage to the health professionals who lost their lives in fight against COVID-19.
According to the details, Dr. Zafar Mirza said during that the health professionals who lost their lives will be given a relief package as per with the martyrs of the armed forces.
He also said that protecting the lives of health professionals is the top priority of the administration.
