DG ISPR said, one officer and five soldiers martyred during routine patrolling in Buleda, District Kech, 14 kms from Pakistan – Iran Border.

The sources said that the purpose was to observe possible routes used by extremists in mountainous and extremely treacherous terrain of Mekran, Balochistan.

The FC troops was targeted with remote controlled IED during the search operation, DG ISPR said.

He also informed that the incident was happened when troops were moving back to their base after assigned patrolling duty,

DG ISPR said, one officer and five soldiers martyred while one soldier got injured.

According to the sources, the soldiers who martyred during the attack were Major Nadeem Abbas Bhatti from Hafizabad, Naik Jamshed from Mianwali, Lance Naik Taimoor from Taunsa Sharif, Lance Naik Khizer Hayat from Attock, Sepoy Sajid from Mardan, Sepoy Nadeem from Taunsa Sharif.

The official twitter of DG ISPR also said that Mr Zalmay Khalilzad, US Special Representative for Afghan Reconciliation called on General Qamar Javed Bajwa, COAS, today.

ISPR said, COAS reiterated that our support towards peace process is a manifestation of our goodwill towards the cause.
