With Prime Minister Imran Khan in chair, federal cabinet meeting will be held today in Islamabad. The meeting will discuss the ongoing situation in the country amid the coronavirus outbreak. Prime Minister Imran Khan will chair the meeting. The cabinet will also review the political and economic situation of the country.
As per details, The meeting will also discuss the seven point agenda. The cabinet will be briefed on measures taken by the government to prevent spread of coronavirus, while the steps taken by government against the pandemic would also be discussed.According to sources, the cabinet will also endorse the decisions by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) and the Cabinet Committee on Energy. Appointment of a member of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics and CEO of Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) is also part of the agenda.
Earlier in the meeting held on May , the cabinet nod in positive for easing the lockdown across the country from May 9th. The gesture was made in view of the prevalent situation and difficulties faced by the people. The cabinet was informed that the Committee on Election Reforms had sent its report to the Ministry of Law and Justice. The prime minister desired that the election process should be transparent and unbiased, which should also enjoy the trust of the masses. The PM said reforming the electoral system was part of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s agenda and it would remain the topmost priority of its government. The prime minister stressed the need to reform the criminal justice system as the cases lingered on for decades. He asked the minister for law and justice to finalize the reformation process in the criminal justice system within six months.
