Prime Minister Imran Khan today (Thursday) will chair National Coordination Committee (NCC) meeting in Islamabad to discuss the reopening of institutions like schools, universities from June 1.

Yesterday, a meeting was chaired by Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood which was attended by all four provincial chief ministers. They proposed the closure of educational institutions till Coronavirus situations doesn’t get controlled.

However, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has suggested opening of schools to overcome the loss of education.

Shibli Faraz, the newly-appointed Information Minister said on Tuesday that the lockdown can only be eased if public take proper health precautions to battle against the dangerous disease and this can only happen if they stay at homes.

“Whenever the lockdown eases, people should follow the SOPs and safety measures because we cannot afford a relapse of the pandemic,” he had said.

He further told that the federal cabinet has decided to donate one month’s salary to Prime Minister’s Corona Relief Fund.

Shibli Faraz added that on the directions of the Supreme Court, regarding the appointments in the Cabinet Division, all the Ministries were requested to provide details of the appointments made in the previous governments without approval, on which six or seven divisions have submitted their reports. ۔

He said that the rest of the division had been given time in this regard and as per the report 76 people had been recruited illegally.

The Information Minister said an implementation report was presented in which it was stated that the Cabinet had taken 1376 decisions in which 86% of the points have been implemented while 7% i.e 114 are being implemented.
