President Dr. Alvi today (Monday) to represent Pakistan at the virtual Summit of Non-Aligned Movement.

The Special Online Summit of the Heads of State and Government of NAM Member States has been convened at the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, in his capacity as current Chair of the Movement.

The Summit will conclude with a political declaration of the movement “Uniting Against COVID-19” as well as identified measures for enhanced coordination among NAM Member States in their common fight against COVID-19.

Earlier, Dr. Arif Alvi had pressed upon the federal and provincial governments to continue a coordinated strategy to prevent spread of coronavirus pandemic.

He spoke at a meeting to review Corona situation in Balochistan, after reaching Quetta on a one-day visit.

The President expressed satisfaction over Balochistan Government’s steps for extending effective cooperation to the poor people during lockdown.

Moreover, the President surprisingly visited to multiple mosques in Rawalpindi to look over preparations for Taraweeh prayers in the city.

The President visited Jamia Mosque on Murree Road, Jamia Mosque Ghousia Saddar, Mosti Mosque on Liaquat Road and Jamia Mosque Gulshan Dad Khan.

He reviewed whether SOPs issued by the government for precautions to fight against COVID-19 pandemic were followed or not.

President Alvi expressed his satisfaction after seeing social distancing being practiced during prayers.
