Planning Minister Asad Umar has said that the government will seal areas that have been identified as the “hotspots” of the coronavirus.
During a press briefing Planning Minister Asad Umar said virus “hotspots” are now being identified through latest data and technology. He briefed the media on the measures that are being taken or are in the pipe based on data analysed by the National Command and Operation Centre.
Planning Minister Asad Umar has said that with the help of the data that has been gathered so far, the government will implement a “smart lockdown” to curb the spread of the disease. He repeated that the government could not impose an indefinite lockdown as it would have had a devastating effect on the low-income class. However, that does not mean that all preventive measures will be lifted, he clarified.
