Family Crushed to death as roof collapsed in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Johar

Roof Collapse incident killed three people of the same family on Tuesday night in Gulistan-e-Johar area of Karachi city.

According to reports, Three members of a same family were killed when roof of a house partially collapsed in Gulistan-e-Johar area of Karachi.

Roof of a house situated at the upper storey of a four-storey residential building partially collapsed, burying a man, his wife and a child under the debris. Rescue teams reached the spot and retrieved the dead bodies from the rubble and shifted them to hospital. The deceased were identified as Aurangzeb, Shiza and Abdul Hadi.

In March this year, a building collapsed in Rizvia Society, Golimar area of Karachi that claimed at least 26 lives. Chief Minister of Sindh (CM) Murad Ali Shah took notice of the incident and sought report from the concerned authorities.

Earlier in September 2019, a couple was killed in Karachi’s Kharadar Wednesday morning after the roof of their building collapsed. Their two daughters were rescued from beneath the rubble by the police. Authorities say they unable to save the girls’ parents, who were crushed in the accident.  Furthermore The police say the building was in a dangerous condition. A little while ago, a section of the building collapsed.On August 17, residents of a building in Karachi’s Liaquatabad were evicted because the building was tilting. The lanes around the building were sealed.The five-storey building was built 34 years ago, according to the SBCA. Residents say the building was declared weak 10 years ago. In February, a three-storey building collapsed in Malir, killing three people.
