Spokesperson Sindh government Murtaza Wahab has said that Sindh government took effective measures from the day, first case of  reported in Karachi.

He was addressing press conference in Karachi. Senator Murtaza Wahab said, it were measures of the Sindh Government taken timely, that we are able to control the coronavirus outbreak in the province. Murtaza Wahab said the unfortunate back and forth between the Centre and the provincial government regarding the coronavirus outbreak — which was initiated by the federal government — has drawn attention away from the real issues at hand.

He said: “Perhaps that was the reason behind their statements; to divert attention away from the Sindh government’s efforts to curb the outbreak.” He added that the Sindh government had started preparing for a possible outbreak long before the first case emerged in Pakistan. Sindh government spokesperson Murtaza Wahab said that pilgrims returning from Iran and those returning to Pakistan from other countries made up the bulk of reported Covid-19 cases. He said: “I don’t want to criticise anyone during this press conference, I won’t tell you how things were mishandled at the Pakistan-Iran border at Taftan.”
