Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid has said that 1916 more people have tested positive for coronavirus in the province today.
She was addressing a press conference in Lahore. The minister said that number of ventilators has been increased amid the rising number of coronavirus cases in the country.
Punjab Health Minister said that when the government eased the lockdown, people assumed that the coronavirus pandemic has ended.
She added that coronavirus cases increased due to violations of SOPs by people.
However, the government fined shopkeepers and closed markets for violating government orders.
The provincial health minister claimed that Punjab is conducting most coronavirus tests per day.
She emphasized that taking precautions is the only solution to coronavirus problem and urged people to take measures to curb the spread of the virus.
On the other hand The National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) shared currently 102 testing labs equipped to for coronavirus testing across the country.
During today’s meeting, the NCOC discussed in detail the incentive package for front line healthcare workers.
The NCOC also told that over 11,000 SOP violations observed across the country including AJK and Gilgit Baltistan.
