Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar has said that sufficient financial resources have been provided by the government to ensure satisfactory and sustainable supply of water.

According to details, a review meeting was held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar to improve water supply.

The meeting directed the Minister for planning to immediately end illegal water connections and take harsh legal action against the culprits.

The Federal Minister was briefed by the Chief Municipal Officer that several steps have been taken in recent weeks to address the issue of water scarcity.

He said that the existing water plan also includes filtration of clean drinking water, rehabilitation of plants and other measures for existing and installation of new tube wells and repair of inactive water tankers for emergencies.

The Chief Municipal Officer informed that action is also being taken against illegal water connections after which the water supply situation will improve significantly by the end of this month.

It may be recalled that the meeting was attended by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Ali Nawaz Awan, Raja Khurram Nawaz, Chief Officer Metropolitan Corporation and others.
