ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that the government should admit incompetence and resign, adding that religious schools should be allowed to continue their educational activities with precautionary measures.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman while addressing a press conference said that educational institutions should be allowed to resume educational activities. Government educational institutions close in June, July and August every year.
The JUI chief further said that religious madrassas stopped their activities as soon as the virus came to Pakistan. The government is not providing any facility on the issue of dead bodies of overseas Pakistanis.
He also paid tribute to the front line warriors including doctors, nurses, paramedical staff and security personnel.
It is pertinent to mention here that, the Private Schools Action Committee staged a protest outside the Karachi Press Club against the government for not giving permission to resume the educational activities in the school.
Owners and teachers of various schools took part in the demonstration outside the Karachi Press Club while holding placards and banners against the Sindh government with slogans demanding an end to the economic massacre of teachers and reopening of schools.
The protest was led by the leaders of the Private Schools Action Committee. Addressing the protesters, the leaders of the action committee said that the future of more than 1.5 million teachers and children was at stake while thousands of school owners were facing economic hardship due to the closure of schools.
