The Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) has again extended the deadline for blocking mobile devices in the wake of the Coronavirus.
According to a statement issued by PTA, all GSMA approved IMEIs on mobile networks, which are not yet registered with PTA, are required to register such IMEIs. The PTA has been extended till July 3 amid coronavirus.
According to the rules, all mobile devices that are connected to any local mobile phone network via local SIM must be registered within 60 days of using the local network for the first time. However, due to unusual circumstances, such unverified mobiles, which were supposed to be blocked between March 18 and July 3, 2020, will now be blocked from July 4, 2020.
