A team of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore raided Shehbaz Sharif’s residence with a heavy contingent of police to arrest Shahbaz Sharif for non-appearance in the alleged money laundering case. However, Shahbaz Sharif was not present at the house.
According to reports, the NAB Lahore team raided the residence of former Punjab Chief Minister and current Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif in Model Town and remained inside the house for about an hour and a half. However, the team were told that Shahbaz Sharif was not present in the house after which the NAB team left.
The NAB had summoned Shehbaz Sharif today (June 2) for questioning but he did not appear after which the police reached his house.
Shehbaz Sharif did not appear before the NAB today and had sent a written reply to the NAB.
“NAB officials can ask me questions on Skype,” he said in a written reply.
Shehbaz Sharif said that some NAB officers have also contracted coronavirus, I am 69 years old and I am a cancer patient.
Earlier, Shehbaz Sharif had filed an application for interim bail but the Lahore High Court has fixed the petition for tomorrow and a two-member bench headed by Justice Tariq Abbasi will hear the petition.
The Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly took a stand in the petition filed in the Lahore High Court that there was a danger of arrest by the NAB in the money laundering case.
Talking to media outside the Lahore High Court, PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah expressed concern that the opposition was being subjected to the worst possible revenge.
He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan was a facilitator of flour and sugar scandal.
