Despite of the surge in coronavirus cases in Sindh, Online taxi service has been allowed to be restored in Karachi.

According to the details, Only two people will be allowed to sit in the online taxi service. The Provincial Minister for Transport said that in an emergency case, one more person can be accommodated in a taxi.

Owais Qadir Shah said Air conditioning will not be allowed on the bus.

Let it be known that the management of online taxi services demanded that the Sindh government allow them to resume operations as the coronavirus lockdown has eased.

In a letter to Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, the management of online cab-hailing services assured that drivers will adhere to safety rules. They will wear masks and gloves and use sanitizer, they said.

“Only one person will be allowed to travel in a taxi at a time,” the letter stated, adding that a maximum of two people will be accommodated in an emergency situation.

“The car will be disinfected after every ride,” it added. The management expressed that because of the shutdown, drivers and other employees of the service were suffering. Due to the lockdown, taxi services in Sindh have been closed since the last week of March. Public transport has also been shut down.

In the last 24 hours, 1439 new cases have emerged in Sindh province. Currently, the condition of 358 patients is critical said Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah. Out of 1439 cases across the province, 1035 new cases were reported in Karachi.
