The nationwide tally of confirmed Coronavirus COVID-19 cases has soared to 160,118 after 5,358 new infections were detected over the past 24 hours while 118 more people lose their lives due to the deadly disease.

Province Wise Cases:

According to data released by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), So far, 60,138 cases have been detected in Punjab, 59,983 in Sindh, 19,613 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 8,794 in Balochistan, 9,637 in Islamabad, 740 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and 1,213 in Gilgit Baltistan.

Deaths:

With 118 more people to the deadly pandemic in past 24 hours, the number of people dying from the disease in the country has soared to 3,094. 53 people lost their lives in Punjab while battling COVID-19, with additional four in the federal capital Islamabad.

New Cases and Tests:

A total of 2294 new cases were detected when more than 30,000 tests were conducted during this period.

Recoveries

The number of people defeating the deadly virus has reached 59,255. So far, 982,012 tests have been conducted across the country.

Smart lockdown

Moreover, The district administration has formulated a strategy to implement smart lockdown in all districts of Karachi.

According to the details, Commissioner Karachi has sent the recommendations of the district administration to the Chief Secretary Sindh. BOL News has obtained a copy of the recommendations.

The districts which have been declared hotspots in view of the coronavirus are being sealed to protect the people and save lives.

The district administration has identified coronavirus hotspots in several districts of Karachi, including 21 in Malir district, 19 in Korangi district, 21 in the district east, 33 in district west and 11 in the district south.

On the other hand, around 50 localities have been sealed in Lahore and 4 areas are under seal in Peshawar to prevent the spread of Coronavirus outbreak.
