The accountability court has decided to charge the former president Asif Ali Zardari through a video link on July 6 under Park Lane reference.
The decision came as Asif Ali Zardari did not appear before the court hearing the Park Lane reference on Friday.
PPP leader Asif Ali Zardi was summoned to appear before the court for his indictment. However, his lawyer Farooq H Naek said that it is difficult for him to travel, as he can contract coronavirus due to his old age.
The lawyer said that ex-Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani had appeared before the court and have contracted coronavirus. However, Justice Azam Khan responded, “You are also attending the session. Do you not value your life? If you are presenting yourself then you can also call Asif Ali Zardari.”
Court decided to indict Zardari through a video call on July 6. The National Accountability Bureau has been directed by the court to make arrangements.
The court had earlier delayed the reference till 26th June.
