PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif contracts COVID-19 after testing twice

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharifhas tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

His test results were confirmed by PML-N Spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb and leader Attaullah Tarar. Shehbaz Sharif was tested twice and his result came positive after his NAB appearance.

He is currently in quarantine at his Model Town home. Shehbaz has cancer and had earlier requested NAB to allow his questioning via video conference. However, the request was denied and he had to appear before the bureau in person.

Marriyum Aurangzeb said NAB put his life in danger by summoning him.

Several other PML-N leaders have also tested positive for COVID-19, including Ahsan Iqbal and Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.

Earlier, Shehbaz Sharif appeared before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in a money laundering and assets more than income cases where he was interrogated for about an hour and a half.

At the time of Shehbaz’s appearance in the NAB, Police personnel were deployed and barricades were set up outside the NAB office in Lahore.

A three-member NAB team questioned Shehbaz Sharif about money laundering and assets more than income cases while maintaining social distance due to coronavirus.
