Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday said that provinces should not have imposed lockdown without knowing its impact on poor and daily wagers.
According to details, the premier was speaking at the ceremony for commencement of three Ehsaas initiatives, including Ehsaas Rashan Portal, Ehsaas Langar and Panagah App and PM’s COVID Relief Fund website, in the federal capital, Islamabad.
Prime Minister Imran Khan said PM’s Corona Relief Fund is established to financially help the people who lost their jobs because of the lockdown.
The premier said the government will add four rupees against each rupee donated in the fund.
Imran Khan said the website of the Fund will help donors reach the deserving people. He said the government will continue facilitating a connection between donors and the deserving people. At this moment, PM Imran praised Dr Sania Nishtar and her team for providing billions of rupees to people in a short span of time.
The Prime Minister said Ehsaas program and the government’s policy of easing the lockdown have helped lessen the effect of the COVID-19.
In addition to this, Imran Khan added that in India, the complete lockdown has severely affected the poverty-stricken people and made about 34 percent people either hungry or prone to diseases.
