The Government of Balochistan has extended the smart lockdown till July 30 in order to curb the spread of deadly coronavirus.

According to the details, Spokesperson Balochistan Government Liaquat Shahwani, while addressing media, announced that smart lockdown in the province has been extended till July 30th.

“New coronavirus cases in Balochistan have dropped by 50 percent,” he said

Spokesperson Balochistan Government appealed the public to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) during Eid ul Azha to avoid a possible spike in cases.

Liaquat Shahwani said that elderly people and children restricted from entering the cattle markets.

“The elderly and children not allowed to enter cattle markets. Sanitizers and masks will be used and one meter of social distancing will be ensured,” said Shahwani.

The spokesperson said that a minimum distance of two meters would be maintained during Eid prayers and gatherings.

During the lockdown, there shall be a complete ban on the gathering of ten or more people, sit-ins, processions, and rallies.

The notification also adds that tandoors, grocery stores, medical stores, blood banks, and tailor shops will be allowed to be operational for 24 hours apart from restaurants and hotels that will only be open for home delivery and takeaway service.

All shopping malls, markets, and shops shall remain functional from 9 am to 7 pm from Saturday to Thursday.

On Wednesday Punjab government also extended the lockdown in the province by 15 days till July 30 amid the outbreak of novel coronavirus.

Educational institutions, hotels, and wedding halls will remain closed until July 30, 2020. According to the notification, the ban on public gatherings will also remain in place.

Secretary Primary and Secondary Health Care Captain (Retd) Muhammad Usman, issued the notification, according to which educational institutions, wedding halls, restaurants and cinema halls will remain closed till July 30.
