Gas supply to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations across Sindh including Karachi has been restored after 48 hours of suspension.
According to details, gas supply to 640 CNG stations across Sindh including Karachi restored after two days.
People working at CNG stations complain that one day the closure of the station not only stops work but also cuts their salaries.
Gas supply for captive power and industrial sector has not been restored yet. The federal government has assured the industrialists that the problems will be resolved soon.
In a letter addressing petroleum pump owners, Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) earlier said
“CNG stations would be closed from Friday to Sunday (closure of 48 hours) to divert gas to K-Electric. K-Electric is unable to meet the city’s demand due to unavailability of sufficient amount of furnace oil for its power plants. Last month, SSGC directed an additional 50 million metric cubic feet per day (mmcfd) of gas to K-Electric.”
